Diane Dreher is a best-selling author, positive psychology coach, and university professor. She has a Ph.D. in Renaissance English literature from UCLA as well as credentials in spiritual counseling and holistic health. Her books, The Tao of Inner Peace, The Tao of Personal Leadership, The Tao of Womanhood, Inner Gardening, and Your Personal Renaissance offer practical strategies from Eastern and Western philosophy to help readers meet the challenges of contemporary life. Her books have been translated into ten languages* and featured in popular magazines such as USA Today, Entrepreneur, Redbook, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Science of Mind, Working Woman, and on Web sites focused on leadership and personal growth.

Diane is Professor of English and Associate Director of the Spirituality and Health Institute at Santa Clara University. Committed to peace and justice, not merely in word, but also in deed, she works to advance academic freedom, justice, shared governance inclusiveness as president of Santa Clara’s chapter of the AAUP (American Association of University Professors). She recently volunteered as a health psychology coach for women at a local homeless shelter, and enjoys knitting hats for the folks involved in the Occupy Movement.
